I've recently been collaborating with John Dingley, inventor of the Digi-Gurdy, on a new compact practice version called the Cyberdeck. It's still in development but we're pleased with progress so far. He just made a video about it.

Re: Digi-Gurdy Cyberdeck
This is very interesting, I’d be interested in one for sure, I played a real Gurdy some months ago, and fell in love with it, so expressive, I thought yeah, I can use this.
Trouble is, the sound of a real one has so many artefacts to it, getting that electronically could be very difficult.

...yes, they're amazing instruments. This is more of a portable practice device for hurdy-gurdy players, kind of like an electronic bagpipe chanter.
Re: Digi-Gurdy Cyberdeck
I’d like a real one, but haven’t seen one at price that would suite me, but hey, this isn’t electronics, this is the world of unique acoustic bliss.
