UAD1 Project PAK - $150 voucher only in Germany

Post by BunnyRabbit »

Hi,

Last week I bought a pair of UAD Project PAKS in the UK from Inta Audio. Nice deal although the price has moved up since I bought from them. No problem there - Thankyou Inta.

However, I was was under the impression that these project PAKS would each come with $150 voucher to spend on plug-ins at the UAD store. That impression was wrong.

When I'd been researching theses cards there'd been a lot of talk about the $150 vouchers so I assumed it was part of the package in the same way the other packs seem to have vouchers. I'd set my heart on the RE201 Space Echo y'see.

When I installed and registered the cards though I was in for nasty shock. No vouchers.

I contacted UA and they patiently explained that I'd misunderstood. It was time limited offer that ran out on 31/12/08.

But! I pointed out Thomman are still advertising as having a $150 voucher! Yes, said UA "Project Paks have only ever included a $150 voucher when purchased in Germany (special deal worked out by their distributors)".

So, if I was doing this again I's order from Thomman or someone else in Germany and get my vouchers.

At the current prices it would be almost a waste for me to spend anything on the UA plug-in store without first buying a Project PAK from Germany. e.g. Spending $250/£170 on the Space Echo now or buying a Project PAK for approx £175 and an extra $100/£68 with the $150 voucher.

Hi,

No, I had the same thought but I'm outside the 7 day refund window.

Plus I've installed the cards so I'm not sure that would count as being returned unused.

Oh well...
