Any input on the MXL 4000?

Post by sdmaas »

As a preface, I know the importance of a quality mic and I would never sacrafice quality for a cost, but is this mic anything worth looking at? The SOS review claims it is a decent mic.

Here it is.....

I see MF is selling the MXL 4000 (which MF claims retails at $1,200 or so) and the MXL 603s together for $199. Has anyone used these mics? Mostly the MXL 4000; I am not so much worried about the 603, for I have a set of pencil condensers that blow them out of the water already. Any equal comparison?
