Yes you can. There's something wrong with your laptop.

A Chinese friend of mine uses an ancient Dell XP laptop, it is pre-core 2 duo, centrino I think, 2 gig ram and they watch Chinese TV Shows and it works great, really high quality video. I try BBC iPlayer on the same machine and it burps and farts it's through Top Gear, it's hardly worth bothering. And pages that are Silverlight/Flash intensive are just as bad, yet the Chinese ones are fine? And this is using the same ISP - BT Internet.

On a more general point, I think there's something up with the internet anyway - eBay offline for hours on end twice in a month, it took me several attempts to pay my electric bill today, kept getting 404 error when I tried to log on, some other sites keep dropping out. This all seems to have come about in the l;ast month. And my computers have up to date anti-virus, I never got to dodgy sites of any description, just here, eBay, Gumtree, YouTube etc

But when the internet is ok the old Dell XP laptop chugs along quite merrily

I've never had a Chinese girlfriend, busty or otherwise, sounds interesting, is that what you're saying? Or is there a double entendre of "XP" in there somewhere??

I was just adding to the guy who mentioned the Chinese xp setup ran like a dream. The only good experience I've had with xp recently is on a mchine not connected to the net where it ran like a dream
