Anyone recommend a good budget Lexicon reverb for one million....
Re: Anyone recommend a good budget Lexicon reverb for one million....
I know you are after Lexicon but it looks like the field has widened so I'd recommend a Kurzweil Rumour - high end fx for a lot less than you'd expect.
Perhaps not in the same class as a TC M3000 or Lexicon PCM91 standard but pretty good for £200-300.............The other fx are decent too and the laserverb is interesting....

Ken - Im putting together a sort of live jamming rig. Putting the fun back into it even if im just jamming in my bedroom.
THen if anything good comes up ill mix it all down and no doubt break out my PC and all its VSTs.
FB - Thanks for the recommendations. Appreciated.

Actually what about a guitar peddle reverb? Gotta love the hands on control of those things

Incidentally, quadraverbs were used extensively by warp records in there early years so I suppose the sound is subjective like anything.
Anyone tried the MX200?
They were cheap and metallic sounding.. used because they were the cheapest around at the time not much else to recommend them unless they're sub £50.. especially now as you can pick up much nicer lexicon units for not much more

Soft: MBP 15", X-Station, LogicX, Mainstage 3, Korg legacy, Diva, Alchemy, FabFilter.
Hard: Mostly now all for sale.. but Akai MPC Live, Tasty Chips Gr-1, Roland Promars, AS Telemark, Eurocrack disease

Ahh the dear little Quadraverb. It was great in it's day and still has a few tricks up it's sleeve, but sadly can't compete with modern units on vocals or any intimate instrumentation. The Q2 on the other hand is vastly better, although you would be lucky to get one for less than £400.
I'll second the Midiverb 4 as it is stunning for a unit of it's price range. You can often pick them up secondhand for less than a £100.
I'd also like to throw the Digitech Studio Quad V2 (the black face, not the blue V1) into the mix (pun intended). Like the Midiverb 4 it really is fantastic value for money and has a ridiculous amount of programable options. Being able to link effect parameters to an LFO or to react dynamically is a major plus point in my book.
For a lot more money you can also get a Studio 400, which is basically two Quad V2's in one 2U box. Yummy!

I've used it on live studio mixes but now I only really use it for live sets (which isn't often!). I use plug-in reverbs now. Its not brilliant but its very cheap. I got mine for £60.
Its always stays on the Gold Plate setting.
Coolio, I've got an Alex in my mixer case along with ye olde Alesis EQ. They've got to be some of the shallowest (physically - from front to back) of their kind even now, which is why they remain there.
Not very elegant but works a treat and fits in the car.

I've still got an Alesis MidiVerb4 in my rack - its reverbs have real character!

If we're all veering off the Lex thingie a tad then I recommend the Roland SRV3030 and the Korg AM8000R. Both were really good boxes for the money.

I hear you Kola.

Its no worries though. Ive got some good advice and considered things I wouldn't have otherwise, IE the Zoom and the Alesis. May give them a go first actually.

I've got one as well but not used it that much. Mine was £50 but didn't have a power supply. But I'm partly retiring a synth that I'll swap the PSU for and see how much I use the Alex then.
