How long can a Floyd Rose be missing a string?

I'm always trying different strings. The lowest gauge I would use is 11s for a solid body electric so I can bend. 11s are the heaviest gauge that have a plain G string.

I have an Ibanez archtop and I've got Thomastik Bebop 13s on that. For a jazz guitar Thomastik have Bebop that are roundwound, and Swing that are flatwound.

I'm going to try Bebop 11s on a solid body electric and see how that goes.

I always buy strings 5 sets at a time, minimum. That way I’ve no excuse for leaving strings on past their best.

I write the date of the string change and the gauge on a piece of tape stuck to the back of the headstock.

What I wondered was if it's twenty five plus sets of the same strings, like Ernie Ball 9s, or if it's a string smorgasbord, giving options, like "today I feel like DR pure nickel"?

I have a lot of guitars

They are not all the same strings: I have Ernie Ball 8s & 9s, Prs 9s, Moog 10s, Classical guitar strings, acoustic guitar strings even some bass ones.

I always buy in bulk, when I get down to a few left of a type I get another box of 10.
