Looks like the input is probably correct but the output is going to the computer's on board sound - is this what you want?

In addition, check the settings for each track on Audition - it is possible that these override the default settings.

ASIO will give you much lower latency than MME and is the only supported driver model on the version of Audition that I use.

There's an option to have the output go through the USB codec. Is that what I should do?

So here is everything in my setup involving the mixer: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Zga88U0PtJZEI0YjhCYTFFdlk/view?usp=sharing

I'm admittedly a little novice at this and just trying to simply record my voice in Adobe Audition. I have Audition on the MME interface with USB Codec playback and recording.

My computer isn't recognizing the sound at all.

You should download Audacity and get that working to see if you have things set up correctly.

Did you install the latest drivers for the mixer? In Windows Sound, is the Berringer listed by name? You mention a USB audio codec, that doesn't sound right. Post screen shots of the routing in the OS. What's selected where. Also, post a screenshot of Adobe's audio MIDI setup window.

You're trying to record and monitor through the mixer, right? Not a mix of system and mixer?

It's the same thing on Audacity. Are there drivers for this mixer?

How do I find the routing OS to share with you?

Here are my software settings, not sure what I'm missing or doing wrong:

Try going through this, step by step. See if you can see where it's gone wobbly.

Everything is exactly as I have it.
My mixer meter recognizes the microphone audio. And my computer accepts that there is a usb codec... yet the audio doesn't show up on my laptop.
