Just bought a pair on JVC foldable on-ears for a fiver.

Needed small and compact for audio monitoring of the 'Am I getting anything and, if so, is it blatantly distorted?' variety for my location video shoots.

Meanwhile, for proper monitoring and mixing my AKG 702s continue to give me all I need...

The best headphone bargain that I've found was a pair labelled EYC from Trago Mills in Falmouth for about 12 quid. I bought them when I was about to go off on a working cruise and found that I'd forgotten my usual headphones. They may not have been quite as revealing as more expensive models but they were free of any vices and folded up nicely.

Weirdly I have a set of backup Sennheiser in-ears I bought from Trago Mills down in Devon, and they were a super-bargain!

After using closed headphones most of the time i fell in love with beyerdynamics. However, the quality of the materials they are made of, which is quite good, make it feel like you are wearing headphones, that's not something bad for me. I've read and heard very good opinions of Sennheiser hd 800 s, and people usually stand out their "natural sound", if that's what you're looking for you could try them but i think they're expensive, i still didn't.
