Paraffin/kerosene is the main ingredient of a lot of mild sticky stuff removers. It is very good at the job, but then itself needs removing.

Which is a job for Goo Gone Gone…

There was The Goo Goo Dolls wasn’t there.

The local music store keeps Goo Gone behind the counter to remove the gunk from price stickers when you buy gear.
