I already have an RME Multiface II on my laptop.

However I want to get something more "practical" like Konnekt. The pre's are a nice addition so are the DSP effects. And Konnekt will not eat up my PCMCIA slot on my laptop.

My question is,

If someone has a highly acclaimed audio interface e.g. from RME, does it make any sense at all to turn to something like Konnekt24D?

Or am I completely nuts for even thinking about it??? :headbang:

Theres a A/B test on Gearsluts with a Fireface 400 and Konnekt 24D. Follow the link below:

Hope it helps,

Thank you!That was interesting.

However, on paper the two interfaces have the same quality of converters. What concerns me most is the performance and the stability of the drivers.

I have to say that I expected more things from RME driver-wise. It's been several months and we are still working with beta versions of their drivers.

Konnekt seems a good value for money but I am a bit sceptical about it.

I know this is an old thread but... :D

I was wondering... out of ALL the 24D users on this forum, how many users have had issues with their 24D???

I'm looking at ordering one in the next few days so help me please!

I'm running a PC with the Abit IP35 Pro XE motherboard and the Q6600 quad core chip with XP Pro.

Any feedback would be awesome!

Thanks,
Jamie

It may not be everyone's experience but i regret ever buying it. The thing gave me nothing but trouble for months and became practically unusable.

The customer service left a fair bit to be desired all they had to say was " ours is fine it must be your mac" It wasn't, I swapped it for a FF400 and have been happy ever since.

This is just my experience, there well be many other happy users.

cheers

There used to be some issues for me in genereal use in Windows (but always fine within Cubase) - but the latest drivers have fixed any problems I was having and now I have no issues at all.

Absolutely the same here. First I had problems with Toshiba laptop. The TCE support service told me the problem is my Toshiba laptop and that it is not supported. Now I have a MacBook and while the latest Konnekt 24D beta drivers work much better than previous versions, I still get drop outs time to time and minimum latency I can use in Ableton Live is 256 samples.

The customer service is another story - they have never been able to help me out with my problems (since Jan 2 2007).

I should have bought the RME Fireface 400.
