Hi' I'm Anders
I'm planning to move to London (from Sweden) this summer and start some sort of audio engineering course(s).
I've looked at SAE institute but also found some really disturbing information about them + I came over about 2 months ago and went for a tour at SAE and though I found the equipment amazing but no students in most of the studios?? and the staff seemed moody and unwilling to answer questions.
It's a lot of money so I'm asking on here to see if someone can suggest any other colleges or school offering similar courses.
these are the info links I found on the sae Institute

Any suggestions and advice would be a great help.. thank you

Re: SAE Institute
Hi Anders,
Most colleges and universities do some form of course but it depends what level you want study at. I did a full degree about six years ago and I looked at Leed, Bath Spa and Hull Universities.
I have to say though it actually worked against me as I couldn't get a job in the music industry. I was over qualified to do general studio work but did not have the experience to become a full production engineer. In the end I got a job doing other work and for financial reasons I never looked back.
I am now doing production in my own time though and I do use the knowledge I gained so it wasn't wasted.

Re: SAE Institute
It is well worth a search through this forum as this topic comes up regularly.
If you want to be a studio engineer then experience and attitude are much more important than qualifications.
Cheers
James.

Re: SAE Institute
Thanks for the replies.
Since my post I've also found that SAE is not accredited by the British Accreditation Council like other colleges such as Alchemea and PointBlank
http://www.the-bac.org/colleges/directory/ukdirectc.pl
So will check those out when I come to London
Thanks again
