virtual scratching / turntablism?

Post by jimbobbley »

hello!

continuing in my long-running series of asking you lovely people many questions about plugins, i wondered if anyone knew of anything that would enable you to do some kind of virtual 'scratching' - and scratching that actually does sound like a record player, not just weird noises (i have a couple that say 'scratch' and it's more like a tape stop effect).

i know final scratch would do what i want to - i.e. take boring speech clips and make them into something more interesting - but that's a fair wad and also a fair bit of equipment.

any suggestions? thanks you lovely people!

There are quite a few different systems out now. I use serato and final scratch which both work fairly flawlessly.
If you want to actually manipulate a sample using a record then I think you will have to make some kind of investment for the hardware and timecoded records. otherwise you could try just software and manipulating it wit a mouse??
maybe:
NI Tractor?
Virtual DJ? etc
