I'm looking for one of these and just wondered if this would do the job?
http://www.studiospares.com/Leads-Jack/Headphone-ExtN10M-NeutrikSommer/invt/593070
looks a bit expensive but the local Maplins had a joke one as usual so i doubt theres many alternatives? Would having a 10 metre long extension make the sound deteriorate? As you can imagine i need to get some distance between my pc and the musicians also give them enough slack to be comfortable. Any advice welcome.
Headphone Extension Cable?
Re: Headphone Extension Cable?
Dude its only for tracking
fire away with anything you find....
if someone on here wanted to get technical yes you may get some signal loss but in REAL LIFE no one in the room will notice as your not trying to mix on them while they're extended

Re: Headphone Extension Cable?
I use a couple of these
Like ED_J90 says, worry not about signal deterioration, it is unlikely to prove an issue, especially whilst tracking. Build quality and durability is far more important in this instance. For what it's worth, I notice no deteriation whatsoever using the 10mtr cable from Thomann with my Sennheiser HD-25's whilst connected to any of my kit.

There's very little current drawn from headphones, and you don't need ultimate accuracy.
Our drummer likes headphones instead of a monitor. He's worked happily with a headphone feed that went down 30m of snake, through another 5m of mic cable, then via an XLR-to-jack adaptor and a female-to-female TRS jack connector to the headphones.

Re: Headphone Extension Cable?
The Studiospares one uses decent Neutrik connectors by the looks of it - I would go for that over cheaper ones.

Re: Headphone Extension Cable?
Have just completed a weekend of location recording with six of these Studiospares extenders on DT770pro's - ten groups of unruly teenagers.
The extension leads came through with flying colours - built really well, locking sockets are a dream. Recommended....
