Unaible to audition sounds in pool window in Cubase 5

Hi all

I'm using Cubase 5, and when I go intot he 'pool window' to import sound files for some reason I'm not able to audition the sounds first. The sounds are playing as the time line is moving in the bottom right hand of the screen but there is no sound. As you can imagine, this is quite frustrating. Any ideas as to what I may have done for this to happen, or how I get the sounds to play?

It sounds like you haven't set up the monitoring channel. Go to Devices/Connections and you should have options to set your inputs, external effects, external instruments, output busses, monitor out etc. You could also use your Cubase control room to do something fancy, but I find that more hassle than it's worth.
