Speaker recone advice

Post by magicdog »

I have a Celestion G10 Vintage and a Jensen P12Q Alnico which both need reconing - can anyone suggest a good repair place for guitar loudspeakers...?

TIA :D

I can't recommend anyone specific, but it would be worth calling around some of your local PA hire companies. There's a good chance that either they know someone, or will be able to do it for you.

Is it about a bicycle?

Not too far from the Dreaming Spires?

Note that probably 95% of the sound of a guitar speaker is the cone so a new one on the "vintage" 10 means it probably won't be any longer! The Gold 10 is supposed to be very nice, pricey tho'.

Thanks for the tips - I called Phoenix and both speakers I have are not easily reconeable :frown:

Any ideas why I don't receive Email notification of replies to this thread...?

You have to tick the "Add to favourites box" every time for your first post.

Any idea why the pages keep jumping back to my desktop and internet stopping please? Don't know if the problem is just SoS yet.

I have only had the problem a few days (since an attack by the UPS Trojan I think)I can be typing away like this and then POOF! I am back on the desktop and all my work is lost.

I had something similar a couple of years ago but cannot remember what caused it.

I shall format the system drive very soon in anycase...

You could try a System Restore to a time before the trojan got you...
