Tascam Us-100

Post by Sainteven19 »

I'm starting to get into recording and I'm just looking for a basic audio interface. I was looking at the Tascam us-100 and then it went on sale this week for half off so I'm thinking about getting it now. Does anyone know if it's compatible with Presonus Studio One 2?

If you are really, really that cash strapped I suppose it is a start but it has some serious shortcomings IMHO.

No phantom power, that will seriously restrict your microphone choice and as budget interfaces tend to have low gain mic amps you get a double whammy.

No MIDI. May not seem important to you now but if you do need it in the future that's another, dangly box to buy. I suggest you check out Cash Converter type shops and look for a Tascam US 122, better a 144. M-Audio Fast track pro, Emu 0404 usb. Cconv give you a 7day money back no object deal so pretty foolproof.

Better still, save up for a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6!

As to DAW software I have had maybe 10 AI devices thru my hands in the last 6 years and tried at least as many DAW softwares. Never had a combination that did not work but maybe Martin W will comment?
