The Rycote mount is really nice, I got one to replace the the mount for my AKG C422. However, it is also very expensive, maybe more than the official AT mount.

Re: Shockmount for an AT4033a
The original AT shock mount costs about £65-70 and the Rycote is about £70-75... So around £10 more. But it's a much better design that won't wear out or become floppy, or break, and it is actually a more effective isolation mount. The bespoke pop screen in the studio kit (or bought separately) is also better than any other screen I've used, and easier to rig.

It's somewhat deflating to realize that good gear costs real money.

Is it the 'rubber bands' issue?
Re: Shockmount for an AT4033a
Odd cause I found they lasted an age in hard circumstances, this is the mic I have worked with the most in my life, it is a very good mic. Eventually the mounts break but I reckon I got 4 years daily use on and off stands of all types, thats not bad going.

But I can't seem to find anyone who sells the pop screen seperately. Any ideas?

Google search for 'rycote universal pop filter' -- there are plenty of retailers that sell it. Or contact rycote directly and purchase direct.
Amazon sell it Here
