kill switch pedal without a 'clicky' foot control?
I just bought an EHX chillswitch - a Killswitch pedal with a send on it and am very dissappointed. The momentary switch is one of those standard click switches like many other pedals. That means that if I try to do fast gating with it the noise of the pressing the pedal is ridiculous and unusable. Are there any killswitch pedals out there with softer (non latching)switches so I can do manual gating?

That does sound annoying. I guess you could email the guys at Vein Tap to see if the Murder One has a lighter mechanism. (Foot-operated killswitches don't seem as common as I expected.)

Hmmm... I read the original post and my first thought was 'the EHX works fine, just not ideally for the OP. Sounds like it has a latching switch when he needs a momentary switch instead.'
Then I read more and followed the link to the Vein Tap Murder One page....
And guess what? They offer an option for Latching or Momentary switches
So, Vein Tap Murder One with the momentary option... or, source a replacement momentary switch for the EHX. And where would I source such a switch? Well, FX tend to use latching switches so you need to do a lot of searching to find a momentary one and none of my regular links has anything obvious. You could ask Vein Tap where they get theirs and ask if they'll sell you one or give you the contact. But for not much more than the cost of the switch and postage you could get their pedal off the shelf.

Just like to say that a lot of momentary switches still click! It seems many guitarists like a positive "feel" that the switch has operated...."Can't please.all.the.. time?"
And why does SoS, unlike every other forum I use, keep forgetting my login please?
