Logic won't quit and V-Station won't work after upgrading to Snow Leopard

Post by MitchT »

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro (early 2008, 17", 2.5GHz) from Leopard to Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and then did the 10.6.8 Combo update. I now have two problems...

1: Logic Pro 8 won't quit. I have to 'force quit' it.

2: My Novation V-Station plug in doesn't work anymore. It throws up a form into which I have to type my 'user name' and 'serial number' for the software to re-activate it. I bought it ages ago and have moved house about three times since - It'll take me ages to find the original packaging with the details on as we had to downsize due to adverse financial circumstances so many of our possessions are in storage as the house is too small for our stuff. Is there any other way around this?

Hope you backed up FIRST!

That would not have been my method for upgrading, I would have done 10.6 and live with it for a few days while checking for stability. Then do the combo install.
Always repair permissions after any updates or new software installs.

Trash your Logic preferences, Logic could be communicating with an outdated or corrupted driver or preference from the Novation.

If you registered your Novation, they should have the info you need.
Contact them.

Otherwise you're looking at doing a clean install.(last resort on a Mac)
