Hello!
I´m writting where to see if you can help me choose a monitor for mixing purposes. They´re both in the 300 price range (pair) which is my budget, both have similar specs and both are new models.
The KRK specs are:
Configuration:2-Way
System type:Active Studio Monitor
Low-Frequency:5" Aramid Glass Composite woofer
Mid-Frequency:N/A
High-Frequency:1" soft dome tweeter
Frequency Response:45Hz - 35kHz
Max Peak SPL:106 dB
Amplifier Class:Class A-B
Power Output:50W
High Frequency:20W
Mid-Frequency:N/A
Low Frequency:30W
Input Impedance (Ohms):10 K Ohm balanced
HF Level Adjust:-2dB, -1dB, 0, +1dB
System Volume:(-30dB - +6dB)
Indicators:Power
Input Connectors:
Unbalanced RCA
Balanced 1/4" TRS
Balanced XLR
AC Power Input:
Selectable 110V-120V / 220V-240V (50Hz - 60Hz)
or 100V (50Hz - 60 Hz)
Enclosure Construction:MDF
Finish:Black vinyl wrap
Port Configuration:Front firing slot port
Dimensions (D x W x H):9.7" (246mm) x 7.4" (188mm) x 11.2" (284mm)
Weight:13 Lbs. (5.9 Kg.)
The Fostex specs are:
Drivers
High frequency driver 3/4” soft dome tweeter
Low frequency driver 5” woofer
Dimensions 270 (H) x 165 (W) x 214.5 (D) mm
10.6” (H) x 6.5” (W) x 8.5” (D)
Weight 4.5 kg (/pc., net), 10.7 kg (/pair, gross)
9.9 lbs. (/pc., net), 23.5 lbs. (/pair, gross)
Frequency Response 55 Hz - 30 kHz
Amplifier maximum output
High frequency driver 23 W
Low frequency driver 35 W
Input
• Phone jack (TS) and RCA jack
Normal input level -10 dBV
Input impedance 10 kΩ or more
• XLR Connector (Pin-1: GND, Pin-2: HOT, Pin-3: COLD)
Normal input level +4 dBu
Input impedance 10 kΩ or more
Crossover Frequency 2 kHz
Power Consumption
Normal mode 60 W
Stand-by mode 0.5 W or less
The KRK have a larger frequêncy range suposed to be 45hz - 35khz but they do not provide a graph that shows the freq. response unlike the fostex here in the manual you can find it.
The KRK are bigger and ported but that may come with problems.
The KRK have adjustements in the HF and LF which can compensate the room, the fostex have none.
It looks the KRK are a better option but the lack of a frequency response graph, it almost seems a too good to be true, and fostex is a respected name in this sector, are they more trustfull...
Which one would you recommend?
Thanks!

FWIW, the G2 Rokit 5s are a little thin sounding. That's all I can contribute.
