Volca Beats change playing pattern from midi ?

I've got my Volca Beats hooked up to a laptop via midi. I can start and stop it from my sequencer quite happily, but I can't work out if I can use the sequencer to change the current playing pattern, or even if it's possible. Any ideas if I can and if so , what midi do I need to send ?

It would be 'programme change', which from the charts says 'no', so it doesn't look like they implemented that, just MIDI trigger of the sounds. You'll have to switch patterns live it seems.
