I'm a happy user of a RME Multiface 2 with a DAV BG1 preamp, at my home studio using a desktop computer.
I'm thinking of making some recordings with my band, at the rehearsal room. Since my laptop does not have an expresscard slot nor a firewire port, I was thinking of the RME Fireface UCX as a good option (but it is not cheap).
Which other USB interfaces can be compared in audio quality and preamps to the Fireface UCX?. I was thinking of the Steinberg UR824, but this one may have higher latencies and no Midi I/O.
Just to see your opinions of which interface could be a good match for the RME Multiface 2.
I would record with this one and then mix at home with the Multiface 2.
