Calling anything made by Behringer "long-awaited" is a bit of a stretch!

Yet intriguing - some of those sounds it makes are indeed gorgeous!

And some well-respected folks in the video too (I know both Jane Caley and Richard Devine)

Is this the one which is err 'inspired' by the older Rolands? If so, then I'm quite interested as it's an area I don't have covered and was curious about - a couple of the sounds there were Roland-esque to my ears. I wonder how long it will be before it's out? I seem to remember a teaser about this from ages ago...

5 octaves of full-sized keys and I'm prepared to give it a fair hearing.

Hey! Didn't you see my ironic air quotes?! :headbang:

Ah, you and your weird, left-field and hard-to-satisy requirements!

3-octave* minikeys, or it's not a synth these days..! ;)

2-octaves to be especially cool. It's a bass synth innit, obvs!

Will be interesting to see what their price point is, and what the voice count is.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

Having just put the July 2005 SOS articles onto this site, I was interested to read in the RME Designs interview that founder Matthias Carstens was formerly head product designer for Behringer, where he designed the Edison, the Supressor, the Ultramatch and the Combinator.

I didn't know that Ian! Fascinating stuff, as Matthias is the bee's knees when it comes to comprehensively designed and supported products!

Hmmnn ... I'm now starting to wonder if Desmond spent the 80s in a long black coat, huge wooly jumper with blonde spiky hair ... and a KX5 ....

(Mind you ... I can't talk .. ;) )

Only aspirationally! Other than being a fan, other similarities include a Moog Prodigy as my first synth, and a love of the JP8 (sadly not including ownership of one though).

Own up - you had a skinny keyboard tie, didn't you?

Didn't we all? I mean, it went with both the day-glo lemon AND the pink shirts we used to wear.

Bet you wore red Converse with blue jeans didn't you?!?!!? ;)

Actually ... I think we're just embarrassing ourselves here. Still, it could serve as a fashion warning for the current generation who still that 80s revival..

It's a poly with DCOs.

If it's multitimbral, then I'll be all over it.

Part 3:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YIsA_- ... e=youtu.be

And yes, it looks like it's *another* four-voice poly synth. I think for me, I treat anything with up to 4 voices as essentially a mono synth with benefits (eg, something like a Mono/Poly), 6-voices a barely acceptable polysynth and 8-voices a "proper" polysynth.

At least the stuff I'm hearing from the Berrysynth sounds pretty nice, so far at least...

Agreed on that desmond - there are some mighty fine sonics emerging from these teasers, and potentially (knowing Behringer) a mighty fine price-point to go with them

I suspect there'll even be some enterprising third party offering stick-on logos for those who can't resist but don't want anyone to know they've bought Behringer

Do we know if a tame SOSer has been on the beta/early-viewings panel?

Am sure they won't want to bust the NDA, but would love to know more as soon as feasible.

Oh dear - The Elf is going to do his nut : only 4 octave keyboard!!

The 4 voice thing is odd as well. I'm guessing it will be very cheap. Still curious to see what it's all about..

I'm betting that one of the regulars here has already had a bit of a natter with some of the people in the video. He's suspiciously quiet at the moment... or he could just be working hard.
