Reamp box

Post by curlybob43 »

Hi all

Has anyone got any recommendations for a cheap reamp box. I'm boosting the signal on the line out from my interface into guitar pedals and other outboard gear.

Thanks

Orchid Electronics Amp Interface seems a good bet. They have an excellent reputation and it's only £56. Bargain.

On a tight budget you could try something like

although I'd prefer a little less attenuation.

Personally, I've never had a problem connecting line outputs direct to guitar effects provided you keep the levels down.

Here in the US it's easier to get Radial products. I have the ProRMP which is a passive reamp box. It works just fine!

I used to do that too but then I saw the Orchid and thought I'd just take a punt at it for £56 delivered. It makes a big difference I find and having the ability to lift the ground at the flock of a switch is very nice too. I haven't tried the more expensive units so I can't say how they fare against it, but I find absolutely no weakness with the Orchid so I'm sticking with it and recommend it highly.

Radial, Orchid, DAV, Palmer... there are loads of these things now. I have the DAV one, which is nice enough, and if you're using it with a specific piece of gear regularly, the levels can be trimmed using presets inside the box, which is handy.

But these things are pretty easy to build, too, and cheap as chips.

Eg. the DIYRE L2A kit. I note this one is currently out of stock. Still, it's an open source design, with schematic, manual and PCB layout on the site...

Hi guys

Thank so much for all the recommendations, after checking them all out I think I'll go for the palmer or orchid one. Great finds for good products on a budget!!
