Erica Synths Techno System

Post by DavyP »

I grabbed one of these last week and liked it so much I added another.

It's techno by name only, so many ways to make and modulate sounds when paired up with my other gear.

This was my first go with both linked together. No messing about just made a jam :)

In this one I'm letting the Drum sequencers do the work for me. After the initial sound design and programming all I did was hit play, tweak the filter a bit and add some fx at the end :D

I used a long release on the Bassline modules vca envelope, which makes it drone when it's not triggering note changes, then i ran some cv into the filter cutoff and accent. The rest is a mixture of percussion modulated in different ways, in different time settings, and playing the patterns backwards, forwards, ping pong and randomly.

Crazy sequencer module and loads of fun to use.

Nice looking system, but seems a bit pricey for what you get..

Well that's true. I try to tell myself it works out cheaper than buying the modules individually. :o

I've always been of the opinion that if you love it, buy it ;-)

This has, on occasion, left me slightly hungry. Then again, it's ultimately cheaper to fill the stomach than the studio and you can always pop round a friend's place roundabout teatime in the hope of a few free crumbs, plus for me it's always been good to lose a few lb now and again.

Me too, but it gets me in trouble quite often :round1:

Here's another go at it:

This is a single pattern but the variety comes from using triggs, changing playback direction and different sequence lengths.

Tired now though, been at it all day :D

Pricy maybe, but those things do sound really, really good! Enjoy!

Sold a ton of gear to get hold of an Erica Drone System plus a few other modules. I won't have it all set up until next week as I'm still awaiting the skiff.

The Drone System was to add a bit of grit and dirt to the sound, so this was my first go with it. It's more of a getting to know you session :D

Made use of the Fusion System again with this one and ran the Bass through it via an aux out in the Techno System then ran the Fusion Output plus the Dry bass output into 2 different channels on the Qu32 mixer. Effects are from The Erica Blackhole and Duel Fx Modules.
