I'm working on country track.
It starts with a narrator. Is there someone who can do the speaking. I can’t do it because I am a Swiss.
If there is someone who can do all the vocals it would be even better.
The piece is not finished so it is not necessary to criticise it overly.

Hi Niklaus,
Are you specifically looking for an American / Canadian accent for this piece? A country piece with an English accent could be jarring.
I'll have a listen to the track when I get home this evening.

Yep, listening to those words you really need someone from North America to do the narration, an English accent won't cut it.

Re: a narrator
We do have a few North American folks on the forum, they may not have seen this post yet though.
I might be able to manage a sort of mid-atlantic drawl in the style of P.J. O'Rourke but I'd be looking for something a bit stronger than that ideally.
I could give it a go but I'm not going to have time in the next couple of weeks I'm afraid. So it would depend on how fast you're wanting to work on this.

Re: a narrator
The United States has many different accents and not all of them are probably suitable for country music - for instance a Brooklyn accent would probably jar with me. Also I would get a singer, not an actor.
I have not listened to the track yet but I would also let the singer rewrite the words to get an authentic idiom. Occasionally I use a foreign language title and always get a native speaker to approve, and if necessary correct, it.

I think someone from Texas, New Mexico, Nebraska, Montana or something like that would not be bad. Maybe someone like Tommy Lee Jones in No Country For Old Man, but that’s just one possibility.
A persiflage is dangerous. It could be forcefully funny. Better do it in Buster Keaton deadpan way.
All the lyrics are approved by mother tongue speakers. But all the lyrics can be changed if the narrator feels the need for it. If there are problems to understand the idioms, check them on

OK, where are the American Speakers? It’s only 8 sentences!
Once there was a cowboy on these dry flats
He got no cow and no milk for his coffee
The other cowhands bit the ground, but that made no difference to him
He only cared about milk and would do anything for it
He scraped out the last dregs from his cup of belly wash
And licked some sugar settings from his twisted spoon
Then he put out the fire and saddled his app (Appaloosa)
He hit the flat another time, hoping this time the dog would hunt
