Dust Collecting.

Just saw this, sort of looks interesting.
I thought it was going to sound more interesting than it does, but who knows? You could achieve the same with a few pedals, or one pedal of the right type! spring reverb excluded.
Needs more investigation, can’t make up my mind, trendy luxury? or a must have?

I saw this too ... interesting device and I applaud them for making it but when I watched the demos it didn't demonstrate anything I haven't got comfortably covered already and from what I heard I'd say that plugins (love 'em or hate 'em) do everything it does but better and a lot, lot cheaper.

Some of the effects I also felt had nothing to offer over those on some of my hardware synths and most of those synths can process external audio.

I happen not to be a massive fan of spring reverb either. I'm sure it'll find a niche market but I fear it's rather an uphill battle for them.

Hainbach has sold his Dyson to buy one of these:

That kinda illustrates what I was trying to say - more power to him but his is not a workflow that I'd ascribe to most people :-)

You’ve convinced me Eddy, oh well, all your points are true.
It’s one of those things that looks cool, but wouldn’t really ad anything new to our set-ups.
Hainbach seems to have an uninterrupted flow of stuff being delivered these days, I wonder how much he keeps?

Couldn't agree more, Eddy. It's pretty much all been done in spades.

As for spring reverbs...

I love Hainbach but I bailed on his review early on.
Whereas his recent Techno track with visuals was captivating:

I like Hainbach too, but he seems to be devoting a lot of time lately to reviewing gear, I liked his "how to" videos, about techniques etc, but it’s all becoming a bit too much like a gear review site, no offence to him, and he’s very lucky to try all this stuff out, but I no longer visit the site as much as I used to.

I'd go along with that - doing a search in my foobar2000 player I find that I've bought two albums by Hainbach - one in 2019 and one in 2020 - but during the last six months he seems to have been churning stuff out as well as all the gear reviews, even helping to develop new plug-ins based on his unique gear, such as the fascinating Audiothing 'Wires'.

It's sad, but when I now get a new email informing me of his latest endeavour I'm starting to feel a little jaded by the amount of it all, but perhaps that's just me feeling old ;)

EDIT: I'm now listening to Hainbach's 'Light Splitting' album, and I take it all back - he's wonderful!

Yes, I don’t know his situation, especially during covid, maybe he’s taking things and doing things as they turn up, and making music when he can, difficult times for all of us, and I wish I was doing as much!

He's got more time on his hands, his profile seems very high, manufacturers therefore send him stuff and he reviews some of it.
As much as I enjoy his demeanour and the whole test equipment thing, it's going to have a limited shelf life for me.
Unless he gets his hands on gear from Area 51 my interest is going to dwindle somewhat.
With regards to reviews, at least he is going to do so from a different perspective to most.

Thing is, a lot of the older, or more esoteric stuff still has a lot of life in it, and I’m certainly not hearing anything that sounds like it might have come from another planet unfortunately, at least Hainbachs stuff is genuine old crap, not expensive new crap that’s just been given a lovely new computer generated case, and what’s worse, doesn’t even sound as good.

Good point Agharta!

He always manages to produce interesting sounds with whatever he's exploring
