I am wondering is there any controller that you can actually control plugins in Pro Tools?
I have a Behringer x-touch mini but it doesn't work with PT.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

There are quite a few physical controllers, but they're all made by Avid and are mostly rather expensive. If you're not against the idea of touch screens, the free Avid Control app might be worth a look.

Hmmm, I have never needed anything special to control the plugin parameters inside of protools.
My synth and MIDI controller have knobs that can be programmed. When inside of any plugin in ProTools, you right click a knob in the plugin and hit 'Learn' then wiggle the physical knob. That knob now controls that parameter in the plugin. I think that that is a standard feature of all legit plugins in Protools - that they all have the ability to control any parameter from any knob on your controller.

Hi there
I am able to control the plugins via my sliders in my Deepmind 6 but there is two problems.
1. The plugin is not smooth when using the slider. It I slide it up slowly all the way lets say from 1 going to 10 it will stay at 1 and then jump to 10.
2. The Learn function doesn't seem to be working when I am using it within the plugins.
Thanks

OK. Your problem is described in the SoS article link, but let me get you started here.
You have to configure your synth/controller to send MIDI CC from the slider you are using. There are other things that can be configured so you have to learn how to dig into your particular synth's MIDI settings and tell it so send CC messages.
When you right click in Protools, note that it says Learn MIDI CC.
So Protools wants you to send something that is a CC (Continuous Controller) message. A CC message is a value from 0-127 as you move the control.
Your synth is not putting out a CC message but is instead jumping from 0 to 127 instead of broadcasting all the in-between values. That is a different configuration (switch) for that control and not what you want.
This has nothing to do with Protools but is the settings/default of your synth.
My controller (Yamaha) has some pretty sophisticated ways to configure the feel of the knobs. So it can send the 0-127 values with different profiles like linear, slow, fast, or switched. Hopefully you can find something that configures your sliders too. I am not familiar with your particular synth.
