I am in the process of switching from PC and about to buy a new iMac running Big Sur, however my current interface is a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56.
Has anyone successfully managed to connect and run a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 on a new Mac with Big Sur?
I know the Saffire is old, and technically not supported, but I’d really like to not have to buy a new interface.
Any info or help with this would be massively appreciated.
Cheers!

Presumably your googling already led you here (it was the first search result, so):-
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/ ... ed-systems
...where they say the Liquid Saffire 56 works with Big Sur with the appropriate driver download linked to from that page.

You will need a USB C to firewire adapter too. If you do go ahead please let us know how you get on as I have an old Saffire Pro24 I would like to continue using for the occasional mobile recording.

People often mistake me for a grown-up because of my age.

Thanks guys.
This is awesome news.
The iMac has now been ordered. I’m guessing the Apple FireWire to Thunderbolt adapter will do the trick?
Cheers!
