Hi all, looking for any info on an issue I have with my new AI.
The unit arrived today and it is beautiful, managed to get it registered and even downloaded the Two notes Torpedo Wall Of Sound plugin...again a wonderful piece of kit!
My problem is in trying to download the firmware update for the Interface. I've followed the steps in the article on the website to no avail, I get to the 'initializing' stage and it goes no further. I suspect it's to do with the fact I have to use a USB c to usb adapter for the provided cable, as my laptop is of the older variety.
I have emailed support and expect to hear back tomorrow, but thought I'd ask here too incase anyone has experienced the same issue.
Cheers in advance!

Re: Audient iD14 mkii
I think it is a power supply issue as the Audient is bus powered. USB 2.0 can provide 0.5A but the Audient needs 0.9A to operate. USB 3.0 can supply 0.9A so should work fine. (USB-C is good for 3A).
If your laptop has USB 3.0 it should work fine and you should be able to update the firmware too.

Hi Trevor thanks for the info. I received a reply from Audient with the firmware file attached, so I was able to install from file and the device is now working.
As for the usb type, I don't even think this laptop has usb 3, but the device is working fine with the c-type cabe going through a 3-type adapter into a 2-type port. From what I remember of the specs, not being powered by usb c means the headphone amp will not run at full power, but will still be well useable.
I'm just excited to try out the j-fet instrument input and the iD scroll wheel so I don't have to use the cursed track-pad as much while mixing

Re: Audient iD14 mkii
Hi, I am glad it is working fine, their impementation of the jFet input is excellent.
Audient are a great company, from my experience. I had a very minor issue with the adhesive feet from my Mico preamp falling off, and they sent me replacements FoC, which was very kind. As an aside, the Mico is one of my favourite pieces of kit, it sounds superb, the A-D converter is great, it works off batteries, all pluses for me. The only negative is that it was discontinued a few years ago.

Yeah I think Audient are one of those companies that just don't do questionable products. This is my first piece of gear from them so that will be me now, obsessed for weeks watching every gear video I can get my hands on.
