We started playing this back in 2017 when we asked to perform a Christmas song on a local radio show and it was a toss-up between "A Wombling Merry Christmas" and this. It's been part of the set for all late-December In Isolation gigs ever since. We finally got around to recording our version earlier this year and although we weren't able to properly emulate Slade and record it in LA in August, it was done during one of the heatwaves earlier in the year.
So, I give you our version of the Greg Lake/Prokofiev classic "I Believe In Father Christmas". We've decided to release the storming Matt Pop remix first with our more conventional version and accompanying video (which we shot earlier in the week) coming out a bit closer to Christmas itself.
For me this dance floor-friendly synth pop style of music is more what I was playing back in the 80s and 90s. Have a listen to SkinTight by SugarBox to hear what I was doing 25 years ago. I'm hoping to get my 80s synth pop/synth rock stuff digitised and released at some point in the future too.

Very interesting, especially considering the stuff we've heard from you before.
Look forward to the 'normal' release to compare.
Bumping this thread to let you know that In Isolation will have CD copies of our version of I Believe In Father Christmas available to buy at our forthcoming gigs and off our Bandcamp page (hopefully later today when our singer puts it up). It's a two-track single with the Matt Pop remix on the "B-side".
Saturday 25th November at The Angel in Nottingham Supporting B-Movie (sold out)
Sunday 3rd December at The Black Bull in Gateshead with The Scarlet Hour (afternoon gig)
Friday 8th December at Ye Olde Salutation Inn in Nottingham with Discord & Rhyme and Ombudsmen
Friday 22nd December at The Fidler's Elbow in London with Discord & Rhyme and The Jan Doyle Band
We'll be playing for probably the last time at In Isolation's farewell gig on Saturday 14th December. It's a relatively early start - doors at 7.00 we'll be on at 7.15 as we're doing an extended set and have to been finished by 9.00 for the Spellbound Goth night immediately afterwards.
