On the selection of Audio USB interface/mixer for LIVE recordings

Dear SOS community !

I am looking for a compact mixer or an USB audio interface that could be connected to my electric guitar via D.I. or directly to the condenser microphone and then to the iPhone via usb supported by the camera adapter for live recordings. Most important the device should give mixed stereo signal in the output provided directly to the Apple device. Here are the list of the devices that could work for me:

- Yamaha MG10X - already tested works OK
- Mackie profx 10v3 (should have better preamps than Yamaha)
- Mackie Onux 8 (could be better for recording options however probably could not give a stereo mix in the USB output
- Audient id 44 mk II USB-C audio interface (looks great and very compact, but probably either would not work as the stereo source...)

What do you think about these units? any other suggestions?

I think an of those devices will let you record a stereo signal onto an iDevice but, even if said iDevice has an analogue output (any iPhone from iPhone 7 has no analogue output) I don't think it is possible to send the input from a USB device to the analogue output (could be wrong about that though) but why would you want to when all those USB devices have stereo analogue outputs which are/can be mirrored over the USB?

if I understand it correctly, Dolce doesn't want two channels of inputs being recorded as separate L+R channels on the iDevice, but wants the ability to mix and balance the signal that goes in.

Any of the mixers will do that. The Audient I'm not sure but with the right app it should?

The Audient ID44 isn't classed by Audient as iOS compatible.

That's not to say it won't work at all, but I believe it will only input the first two channels as the matching Audient iOS app only caters for two channels. I've seen this stated on some other forums, but don't take this as a certain fact. There may be workarounds, but best to assume it isn't the best choice for recording to an iPad.

The iD4 is the only Audient iD device they state as iOS compatible.
