How do I extract sound files from a Yamaha AW4416 back up file?

Post by crunchie1967 »

I used to have a Yamaha AW4416 recorder. I backed up all my recordings before I sold it and now want to use some of the sound files again. I did have some software that would extract the sound files from the .csf back up but have since got a new PC and lost the software. Can anyone tell me of any software I can use to retreive my sound files.
Thanks
Colin.

+1

that's the site to visit.
they have software called AWExtract which is free. PC only, although there is an apple version available somewhere else - from one of the site members on his own web page.

word of warning - AWEextract only works if there is one song backed up per CD. If you have backed up more than one song the results are unpredictable and you can generally get nothing off the CD. (In that case you'll need to get someone to restore the songs and back them up again).

Just a small correction AW extract isn't free. The author Ripe asks for a $10.00 fee. The program works great and is well worth the asking price.

If you are looking for a Mac version of AW4416/AW2816/AW16G backup extractor, head over to http://www.sillymonkeysoftware.com

I'm the developer of this software so, if you have any issues or want to make feature requests, just send me an email.
