Interesting new products.

Post by Arpangel »

These may have sneaked by me, but Stylophone seem to be making some interesting stuff, I especially like the Theremin synth, and Drone synth.

Also, theres a rumour floating around about a new Moog, maybe a cut-down cheaper Moog One.

The new Moog isn't a rumour - Andrew Huang has actually had it in his studio, and you can even see it in that photograph ;)

The way the world is, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was a sponge cake with knobs on .

I saw that Theremin dig it. Although waving my arms aboot reminds me of Clouseau getting accidentally punched by female dancer.

I'm still pretty happy with my Stylophone S-1, the classic model. If it's good enough for Brett Domino, it's good enough for me.

We are going through very interesting times, Behringer making cheap things that sound more than good enough not to buy an original, and now Stylophone making things that are definitely an alternative to things like the Make Noise O-Coast to name one of the many more expensive alternatives, and the Stylophone Theremin presents an very interesting crossover, both these at very competitive prices. The world of "experimental" instruments is being exploited by people that can see how popular these things are at the moment.

The Gen-X Stylophone was utterly unusable. The keyboard scale was all over the place. If they want to be taken seriously they have to improve on that.

David Bowie used a Stylophone.

It’s been done.

That was a proper Stylophone - fixed resistor ladder, direct physical contact from stylus to conductive pads and a stable transistor oscillator.

Back in the 70’s a friend had the "De Lux" Stylophone, the big one, he added portamento and an external filter control to it, very cool.
