Pitch shifter plugin

Post by apaclin »

Hi, looking for a pitch shifting plugin that reacts to volume of a signal. Here's a reference of what I wanna achieve — when the volume drops after a threshold, the pitch goes down.

The guy used Line 6 HX Stomp.

Do you know any (plugins!) for this?

I don’t hear any pitch drop as the volume lowers in that video.

He could be using a louder volume to trigger a higher pitch shift. A parallel FX path in the HX stomp with another pitch shifter in and noise gate which only opens on the louder playing.

Or it may be the same pitch shift, but a different formant setting.

Listen closely – at the end of every note.

Sounds like a volume-modulated low-pass filter effect to me.

It’s more like an autowah than pitch shift.

I still can’t hear it myself (but am only on my phone speakers). And it’s not like the notes are long and drawn out to accentuate any effect.

It sounds more like an auto-wah/filter effect to me as well. I think it's also effecting the attack of each note albeit in a more subtle manner than the end.

Interesting. It's not the volume that's affecting the pitch, it's the player's technique. He uses various methods of pitch adjustment in that clip, from the end-of-phrase drops you are talking about, to vibrato, and even playing whole sections flat. The tracking keeps up nicely. There is an auto-wah on top of that.

No plugin will give you all that.

Never mind, I asked him and he said that it's just an envelope filter. I guess the fact that the range was so big was misleading.

Gear possibly Boss FT2.
Digged this song solo from first thyme heard it.
