Leap Motion & GECO midi software

Post by ManFromGlass »

File this one under esoteric fun!
I bought the Leap Motion controller and the GECO midi controller software. I'm just learning to set it up in Logic and am liking waving my hands around over this thing to fine tune mixes. (Don't care if I look like a demented conductor!)

Has anybody else here been exploring this combination? I can muddle my way around Logic's environment but would like to see what others have come up with as I still have much to learn.

These links for those unfamiliar with this bit of fun.

...old topic, but just got on board with this. Geco is now free, and the Leap Motion can be found for as little as £30 or so on eBay these days. I like the results these users have got from violin VSTs in different ways; one using it for bowing, and the other for pitchbending.

I think the Leap Motion controller was definitely ahead of it's time. And that might be why they kind of failed, especially in the MIDI-controller market.
But now you see motion MIDIS are making a comeback; with Wii controllers turned into MIDI-controllers, or the motion based midis from owow (https://owow.io). But I haven't seen many artists adopt this technology yet.

I keep meaning to give it a try... there's an interesting demo here using it to control chord inversions and complexity via Cubase's Chord Track.

HI, Friends -- agree, Leap Motion is a wonderfully expressive way to control multi-dimensional dynamics etc while playing in parts. If you're on Windows I've recently released Information removed - ED. Just spreading the word a little - initial users over the last several months have been very happy with it :)

By all means please check it out and happy composing!!

Cheers!

Steve,

You're welcome to post an announcement in the New Products & Industry News forum but interjecting in an existing thread about a different product is bad form and doesn't come across well.

Your desire to spread the word is understandable but please be more mindful of forum etiquette in future.

Thank you in advance!
