It was such a big deal in the 70s and I recall a friend of mine playing a Moog in a band who had half a hit single.

Well, you could have issued a double-A side single, but only one tune was a hit.

It was possibly the era when they had bands on that were ‘bubbling under’.
So they weren’t top 30 yet but top 100 or so.
I missed the performance as this was years after I used to regularly watch it.
If I could recall the name of the band I might find it on Youtube.

I worked on it once when it was at Elstree studios back in the 1990s, not that much fun to work on as I recall, I was doing ‘sound assistant’ duties as a freelance.
I preferred working on Eastenders but would prefer to watch TOTP.

A guy I used to play with had the B side of a 45 that was a big hit here. He received a very large royalty cheque. The money eventually ran out and as this was a new experience for him, he forgot to save some money for tax time . . . . . . . . Took him awhile to pay the gov’t their pound of flesh.
