It´s not THAT special, but I´m fascinated by collecting sounds outside the studio and doing – partly strange – things with the sonic material, which I bring back home to the studio then. Therefore some little sketches to transport a bit of my fascination over to you. Enjoy your day! Rolf

Thank you, Blinddrew!
And here comes the second part of the treasure hunt. An old office building in the city of Karlovy Vary (the Czech republic) reveals its sonic secrets

I think one of the things that makes these work so well is how they change over time in a completely irregular fashion because of how they've been generated.

Hello Agharta!
There isn´t any tool offering similar functionality. There is a VST called "Granite" by New Sonic Arts, which is also a very useful granular processor. But it doesn´t offer the same wide spectrum of possibilities to manipulate the sound. And there are a lot of granular processor, which follow another philosophy, meaning they deliver nice and beautiful effects, but these effects are far less predictable and are based on fixed algorithms under the hood. And as you don´t know these algorithms, it is impossible to "compose" (as you would compose a piece of music) a sound that precise as you can do with CrusherX. This piece of software is unique and outstanding at the moment.
And here is part 3 of my treasure hunt (it is without any granular technology this time).
Part 3 of my treasure hunt doesn´t lead me far away. My journey ends in my kitchen, where I find some interesting things to make excellent sounds.
Enjoy your day!

Fascinating stuff rofilm - love the squeaky door in Part 2, and the kitchen is ALWAYS a fruitful source of bell-like tones (I once created an entire gamelan orchestra from several dog bowls part-filled with water )
