Behringer UFX-1604 Available for Silly Money!

Post by Mike Stranks »

Just a heads-up to people that the Behringer UFX-1604 is now available from several suppliers (although some don't have current stock) for <£300.

I'm guessing it's an end-of-line clearance, but as the going rate was >£500 it represents real value.

So... bye-bye Zoom L-12, hello Behringer UFX-1604!

This is obviously Mike's evil twin posting, otherwise Mike has turned to the Dark Side. :D

It does happen. I hear that they have cookies.... :D

That's an absurd price for such a piece of kit. And it doesn't even have a wall wart!

My Yammy MG16 has started to become a little crackly and is showing its age - was looking at the UFX a few months ago - even more tempting now - thanks for the head up Mike! :)

GAK say it's discontinued, so no point placing an order anywhere that doesn't have them in stock.

I agree, although other places are saying they'll be getting more stock. But I wouldn't order from anywhere that can't guarantee a delivery to them sometime. Phone calls methinks...

Some of those may be automatic website responses to having no stock, triggering standard re-order time frame displays.

Mike are you thinking about using the UFX for recording as an computer interface ?
(that's my plan)

I'm slightly concerned as I'm not finding any info about latency anywhere.

Nope! Standalone mode for me... less gear to take to location...

There's a guy done some recent demos on Youtube of recording to computer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lgQjGk4FkA Maybe you could pick his brains...

If you are prepared to pay a whopping 312quid for one, you can get them from Amazon (when I checked earlier). Although Gear4Music were offering them at 277, this was a 'pre-order' and had an expected delivery date of April ...

I'm not too impressed with G4M's 'expected' dates. I ordered a tenor acoustic guitar from them at the beginning of December which was expected beginning of January. Then in January it changed to June and i still haven't had any confirmation about my email subsequently cancelling my order.

They are great with stuff in stock, and get it out the door pronto, but if it's not...

I have had much better service from other providers when somethng's going to be even a week late asking if I'd like to cancel, not 6 months late but still sending me a stock email telling me it's been slightly delayed but could arrive anytime now.
