When I try to use the search function I get the following message:
"Sorry but you are not permitted to use the search system."
I am logged in. I have cleared cookies and cache for www.soundonsound.com and soundonsound.com.
I'm using Firefox 90.0.2 on macOS 10.15.7 Catalina.
Any ideas?

Hello jfry,
I cannot give you a definitive answer but I know a man who can and your post has been flagged for attention
Cheers and thank you for raising the issue. The forum software was upgraded to a newer version recently which may or may not be be related but as far as I am aware you are the first to report this particular problem.

You're welcome, I've raised it as an issue for attention internally and you can expect an answer soon though it'll almost certainly be in UK office hours tomorrow!

Hi J
Because you have not yet exceeded the 3 post count, you are still in a moderation group which has different permissions. Search was blocked on your account but I have reset and activated it, for you and others.
So please log out and try logging in again and perform a search.
It will not work if you do not log out first, to clear cookies and set a new session.
