Anyone finding Reaper 6 a bit sluggish?
As above. Thought I'd try it out to see what I was missing. I'm on Mojave, on a MacBook Pro, a setup which has worked fine with previous versions. But the v6 is glitching a lot — graphically, with as much as a second pause to catch up with mouse movements making it almost unusable. Equally interested in experiences on Win or other Mac OS, hence posting here...
Re: Anyone finding Reaper 6 a bit sluggish?
I've been running 6.29 on Win 10 without any obvious problems (and definitely no sluggishness) for a while, and am just downloading 6.36 now...

I always update as and when any notifications come in, so am currently on 6.36 on Windows 7.
No slowdowns noticed at all, and I'm using Reaper on a daily basis.

Another 6.36 on Windows user here with no problems. Don't recall any glitching with the earlier versions of 6 either.

I upgraded to 6.36 a few days ago (from 6.29) a few days ago and haven't noticed any issues. However, I've noticed in the past that it can get very slow if you are using a few convolution reverbs at high sample rates with large multitrack sessions of 24 tracks or more.

...compared to doing the same with other DAWs using the same machine?

AA plugs Matt or general sluggishness?

Re: Anyone finding Reaper 6 a bit sluggish?
Thanks guys and gals. Latest version of Reaper. No AA or convo plugins. Only four audio tracks in the session. Could be plug-in related, though I've installed nothing new and the session was created and working fine in the latest v5. If/when I figure it out I'll report back but obvs don't want to name/shame plug-ins here if they're not at fault!

I expect other DAWs would be as bad or worse. It was surprising how much difference doubling the sampling rate made.

OK, I'd be disappointed to hear of Reaper under-performing with such things, relative to the others, as I'm generally so impressed with Reaper's capabilities.

Makes sense, that's a lot of extra work for the old central calculator.
