Oh no, the Cornish postal system has finally also succumbed to hiding the latest issue of SOS.
No show for me as yet either

It's almost as if we have a national logistics problem or something...

Re: North south divide
Martin et al,
The UK edition only went on sale this Thursday 21st and the subs copies posted off on 20th, so they are likely to arrive Monday/Tuesday of this coming week for UK subscribers.
If your copy has not arrived midweek, please email support@soundonsound.com and it opens a Zendesk ticket and a replacement mag will be posted out (which goes via a more expensive, non-bulk delivery, Royal Mail service, so that copy usually will turn up).
Why do we not use this RM service all the time then? Well it would triple the subscription cost to end users and thus make them unviable if we did. Magazine publishers use the RM 'magazine' bulk delivery service - which used to be good...
It does take longer to get mags into the EU since a certain event happened.
US/Canada mags are printed separately in the USA and typically don't finish printing until a week after our UK edition, as the layouts are made from the UK versions, new US adverts dropped in and uploaded to our US printer, hence US/Canada mailouts are always a week later too and it's a much bigger country so delivery takes longer there too.

Thanks for the info Ian, but it's good news at this end - my copy arrived later on Saturday afternoon

I drove it down to Cornwall personally and slipped it through your letterbox, so you'd be able to post nice things today... [joke]
Seriously, that's good to know it arrived. Once mags leave our UK printers, it's up to the Gods (Royal Mail) that copies arrive with everyone.

The divide has been bridged! The chasm crossed! The metaphor extended long past the point of necessity!
Magazine arrived this morning.
Cheers

Good news! We don't need HS2! My subscription has arrived on time.
And 5 days quicker than Private Eye I note...

I live in the east of the middle lands, my copy arrived today, it’s probably down to slow trains, so until HS2’s first leg to Birmingham is completed you’ll have to put up with later deliveries Hugh.
Re: North south divide
Not sure Royal Mail use mail trains any longer? Hope they do - but think it likely to be those large mail lorries one sees on the motorways.
