ASM Hydrasynth - what's happened?

Post by The Elf »

The copyright on their web page is stuck at 2019, there have been no OS updates past Pack 1.5.2 and I'm getting no responses to emails in the past few months.

It's all gone very quiet.

Their Facebook page has posts from early january so at least their PR operation is active.

You could try message them at their FB page, emails aren't any more the preferred way of communication these days.

Well that's the way they've communicated with me until recently.

I guess with a small company like that it wouldn't take more than a couple of C-19 cases to really hit their capacity. Might just be dealing with a staffing hit and the backlog.

hmmm... We'll see. That 2019 date on the web page doesn't suggest a company that is keeping on top of things.

It's quite easy to let the copyright date slip really. For instance I just randomly looked up another boutique synth maker, Critter & Guitari, which is also stuck on 2019. The last update for the Hydrasynth was Sept 2020, so that sounds pretty good to me.

I think the death knell for the end of email is a bit premature though; I'd expect any decent company to reply within days, or at least a couple of weeks.

I’m waiting for support mails back from Moog, one I sent over two months ago, and one three weeks ago.

Yes they’re a bit tardy at the mo. I’d suggest seeing if you have the direct email for one of the support techs and dropping a line directly. I did this and I got a quick response with lots of apologies on the delays.
