Hello there,
I'm an artist under contract with a label, I fully record and produce all my material by myself.
So, I was wondering.
Since labels and record companies usually hire producers and pay recording fees, producing fees/advances to them; should I (as the producer of my album ie) be paid by the label for producing the album. Should I charge them recording fees and be given an advance or royalties concerning the production of the album (in addition to my writing-composing points given in my artist contract).
I hope I made my question clear, sorry for my poor english
Thank you for helping!

The more money you spend on recording, the longer it will take you to recoup your advance.
