Samson Cu10 mic gets quiter halfway through recording electric guitar
hi, very exact problem mostly stated in the title. It works great otherwise but about five seconds after it starts recording electric guitar lines, the waveform shrinks down to about half the size and the sound is very dampened on playback. Doesn't happen opn any other mics. Anybody else have this issue?

What are you plugging it into and what levels are you typically running at?
I couldn't find a CU10, did you mean a C01U?
My first thought is that the levels may be coming in too hot and some kind of auto-limiter is kicking in.

What software are you using to record the CO1U’s output? Have you got the Samson Sound Deck software operating, as that has a noise cancelling function, meant for eliminating background noise from speech, and if so, it is probably trying to reduce the background guitar ‘noise’ after a short period of analysis.
But more information of what you are running the mic into and the software would help us to help you.

Reliably fallible.
