M1 Mac mini Dual Displays

Post by nickle15 »

I've been all over trying to find a simple solution and I'm struggling to get information I can feel confident in. I've even been on the phone with Apple twice with the same question and both calls ended without resolution. So here's my situation:

I ordered a new Mac mini M1 to replace my late 2012 mini.

I want to continue to use dual displays on the new mini as I have been on the old.

One will be connected via HDMI - that's easy.

I need to know specifically what adapter will allow me to hook up the second display via one of the Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Part of this is my own ignorance. I'm not really familiar with Thunderbolt interfaces. I just want to make sure I get the right adapter. I am using a pair of Dell U2415 displays. Right now one is plugged in via HDMI to HDMI and the other is HDMI to DisplayPort.

Thanks for any information/direction!

Just get a USB-C to HDMI cable from Amazon. Physically, the USB-C and Thunderbolt connectors are the same from a plug-in perspective.
