Does anyone know if MAGIX have sorted out the installation and file shifting problems since 2019 please?
I am prepared to stump up the 78 quid for the DAW for son IF it is reasonably user friendly but I know he won't cope with it it unless now better than Robin found.
He also has a small SSD in his laptop so would like the bulk of the software in an external USB 3.0 drive. But I KNOW dikking about with 3rd party apps will not be a solution he will go for.

Maybe why it is so relatively cheap?

It's moved on a version to 10 since the review, possibly why the old version is £78. Acid Pro 10 is currently £110, and Acid Pro Suite (akin the the Next version) with lots more loops and plug-ins, is £186 at the moment.

But going through the change log on this page https://www.magix.info/us/forum/frequen ... --1207319/ I can't see any references to an updated installer

There is a free trial version available, so it may be worth seeing how that works for your son.
