Just a little ditty as my entry to this month's KVR contest. We very nearly lost this. The guy running it was going quit, and nobody offered to take over. The contest has been going just about as long as KVR itself (I've entered off and on since 2007), and the contest organisers usually run it for about 5 years before they've had enough.
Part of the downer in recent years is lack of entrants. We used to get about 50, but lately we sometimes don't even get enough to fill the 10 places
Anyway, there's still time for anyone to enter
This month's theme is to dig out an unfinished composition and... err.. finish it
I abandoned my entry about a year ago.
Lovely lilt - and the counter melody near the end was a very nice touch. This one put me in Dundee. (Which is a good trick, because I've never been there!)
Thanks for all the comments. Very much appreciated.
@Martin. You got the wrong link - that's far more specialised and I've only been able to post to that one twice in {mmmfty}{mmmf} years
The one I regularly contribute to is in the Music Cafe. Here: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=14
Despite the various arguments, KVR still seems to be a real community, with a lot going on.
Their bi-annual Developers Challenge is also well worth investigating, with some great software entries to download and vote for - here's the most recent:
Just been watching a video about Bob Symes, the model railway guy, turned the sound down and listened to this, beautiful child like quality, that went very well with the video, made it very moving.
