Just look at me, and I never upgrade.

:D:D

Besides, upgrading, doesn’t that mean getting something better? quite often the reverse is true, that’s why I’m so scared to "upgrade"

Upgrades are as hip replacements :
only when necessary else without which it's a bummer.

So if a musician had a new hip - could it be said he played hipup, or hipop music?

They might be leaning a bit as they do so, direction depending on which hip was replaced. . . . . . . . .

Hmmm. The only things I've ever bought for music making are hardware, and most of that is at least 10 years old (with the exception of one MIDI keyboard). All the software I use is regularly checked for updates (but not necessarily upgraded) and is free, open source.

I appreciate this path is not for everyone, but it's good enough for me.

People often mistake me for a grown-up because of my age.

I love beer*, I could give up chocolate, I could give up wine, I could give up chips, I could even give up bacon butties but beer? that would be tough... :D

* I'm very specific though as to what constitutes good beer... British bitter is where it's at for me, Timothy Taylor's Landlord, Marston's Pedigree**, Courage Director's, they are all decent bitters that actually taste of something. There are some foreign beers that are good for an occasional change (though nowt American***) and I don't mind an occasional pint of Guinness (or Murphys, or Beamish) but one has to have standards :D

** Rather sadly now rebranded as a 'golden ale' :madas:

*** American beer is like making love in a boat****

A never ending battle of upgrade, especially in this technologically fast-paced improvements.
Very interesting to track.

I just upgrade now and again. I try to use all my plugins at least a little bit to keep things interesting. If I was to upgrade all the time, I'd never get to use anything fully.
