TC Electronic 2290

Does anyone know of any techs in the UK who can service a TC Electronic 2290? Mine has developed a bit of a distortion problem that seems to be related to the input section.

Did you try looking on the TC Electronic site for their service centres?

The UK one is in Potters Bar.

Reliably fallible.

As it's quite an old device and it certainly has a number of electrolytic capacitors inside, it is probably that one or more of those may have dried out/failed and needs replacing. But there may well be other issues.

Not wishing to be a harbinger of doom, but these units are very difficult, if impossible to repair, as the chips are unavailable and very difficult to get hold of, I'd try someone like Sound Gas, I’ve seen them sell these units, and they have service technicians that seem to repair and service this stuff, but they won’t be cheap.
AMS 1580, RMS16, all in the same boat, very difficult to repair, and to be avoided secondhand, these are a great argument for buying 500 series.

As it sounds like the issue is in the analogue circuitry, it should hopefully be a quick and cheapish repair. But if it is in say the A/D or D/A converter, then it could be near impossible, as Arpy says.
